Release notes
What's changed in AI Prompt Assistant, newest first.
4.0.1 Submitted to the Chrome Web Store - rolling out after review
A big update: a fresh look, starter packs, more sites, and sites of your own. When you update, Chrome may ask you to accept the new sites the extension works on. Accept, then refresh your chat tabs.
4.0.1 is the first store update since 3.2.2: the 4.0.0 review was cancelled, and the whole 4.0 update is resubmitted as 4.0.1, now with Google Drive sync of added sites.
New: your sites in Google Drive
- Your added sites are saved in your Google Drive backup too, so they follow you to your other browsers. There, click Allow on a site marked Access needed to approve it. Syncing never turns a site on by itself.
New: a fresh look
- The toolbar popup, settings page and // menu have a new “Pocket notebook” design, with a new rounded icon.
- The settings page has a menu for each part: Your prompts, Starter packs, Your sites, Drive sync, Import & export, Help and Support. You can search your prompts, and long lists show 20 at a time with Show more.
- The // menu matches the chat site's light or dark look and shows a short key hint: Tab insert, ↑ ↓ move, Esc close.
New: welcome page and starter packs
- After you install, a welcome page offers seven starter packs: Everyday, Developer, Writer, Sales, Consulting, Student and Marketing, with eight prompts each. Pick some, or start blank.
- Add more packs any time from Starter packs in settings. Adding a pack never replaces a shortcut you already have.
- Updates no longer open the settings page or bring back sample prompts you deleted.
New: works on ten more sites
- Built in now: Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral Le Chat, Meta AI, Poe, Kimi, Qwen, Felo and Dust.
- Glean works on all of
app.glean.com, not only its chat page. - Works on the new addresses some chat tools moved to:
duck.ai(DuckDuckGo AI Chat),copilot.com(Microsoft Copilot) andnotebook.google.com(NotebookLM).
New: add your own sites
- A Your sites section in settings lets you use your prompts on any other chat site, such as your company's AI tool. Type a domain such as
chat.example.com, or paste a full URL from the address bar, then click Add site. - On a site that isn't built in, click the toolbar button and choose Turn on for this site. Settings opens with the site's address already filled in.
- Chrome asks you to allow access to that one site. The extension gets no access to other sites until you add them. Removing a site gives back its access.
- Some sites use message boxes the extension can't type into. See the setup guide.
New: a toolbar button that tells you what's going on
- The popup shows whether the extension is on for the current tab, and offers Reload this tab or Turn on for this site when that helps.
New: support the project
- A Support link in settings and in the popup shows a preview of the Ko-fi page, with an Open Ko-fi button. It's optional and changes nothing else.
Fixed
- ChatGPT works again when you're signed in. ChatGPT changed its message box, so the menu had stopped appearing for signed-in users.
- On ChatGPT, picking a prompt with Enter now inserts it, instead of sending a message that says “//…”.
- A prompt or shortcut that contains HTML, such as
<b>, now shows as plain text in settings and in the menu.
Privacy
- The // menu is now drawn in its own extension frame. The chat site can't read or search the prompts listed in it. See what a chat site can see.
- The menu only reacts to your own typing and clicks, not to anything the page itself does.
3.2.2 Current Chrome Web Store version
- Works on ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Google AI Studio, DuckDuckGo AI Chat, Microsoft Copilot (including Microsoft 365), Glean and NotebookLM.
- Known issue: on ChatGPT, // doesn't open the menu while you're signed in. Fixed in 4.0.1.
